Bindner’s Alliance Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Profile

In London, Alliance is represented by Derek Bindner, of Bindner’s Alliance Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Academy. Teaching traditional Ju-jitsu since 1997, the school switched to the Brazilian (Gracie) Jiu-jitsu system, and ways of teaching in 2005. Here is a brief history of our Academy. In 1997, Tactical Defense Solutions was formed by Derek Bindner, as a part time martial arts and defensive tactics training school, at 278 Piccadilly Street, in London Ontario. On October 1st, 2000, the facility moved to 205 Oxford Street at Richmond, offering full time instruction to the general public in Aikido, Jiu-jitsu, and defensive tactics. Due to rapid growth in 2003, T.D.S. expanded it's facilities to 1255 Commissioners Road West, in Byron, and changed the name to the Aikido Network, to reflect the type of clientele it attracted. By this time, the Jiu-jitsu program at the Aikido Network was so popular, a special club was formed called the Reliance Jiu-jitsu Academy. In July 2006, a need to expand was once again necessary and the facility moved ten minutes north, to 1615 North Routledge Park, in Hyde Park. In November of 2007, Reliance Jiu-jitsu became an official Alliance Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Canadian representative, and the name was changed to Bindner’s Jiu-jitsu.
